The Pros and Cons of Vacation Home Rentals

When you think of vacation home rentals, you probably think of horribly expensive

, scary old houses where you can't move without the owners gasping in horror. Or perhaps you think of a house on the beach where a lot of crazy parties take place and everyone has trouble getting to sleep. However, the fact of the matter is that this is oftentimes the exact opposite is true. So how exactly do you go about deciding whether vacation home rentals are for you?

First of all, you need to look at the cons of vacation home rentals:

1. If you like free breakfast, you may find vacation home rentals to be downers. This may affect how you feel about renting a roombut it normally isn't that big of a deal.

2. Might be a tiny bit more expensive. A vacation home rental is USUALLY about the same price as a hotel room, but it might be a tiny bit more. It's dependant on where you are, how much the owners charge, etc.

3. May only be open during certain seasons. You may find that you can't get reservations on a certain date, week, etc.

Then, there are the pros of vacation home rentals.

1. You can make your own breakfast. You don't have to get up and go downstairs and eat old bagels that have probably sat on the same table for a week. Now, this doesn't mean that all hotels have yucky breakfastsmany have perfectly delicious foodbut do you REALLY want to get up at six am for breakfast? When you can make whatever you want for breakfast whenever you want to get up?

2. You don't have to deal with crazy parties at two am either when you choose vacation home rentals. If you want to put your little ones to bed at eight o clock, you can do so without worrying about loud partiers waking them up.

3. More privacy. You don't have to worry about someone knocking on your door at one am. And, if you want to parade around your room in a Spiderman onesie, you don't have to worry about weird looks from anyone! The point is, privacy can be a lovely thingand it's lovelier when you get the chance to have that privacy anywhere you go without having to rent additional rooms.

4. You can go halfsies. Ideally you could do this with a hotel room, but you need to remember that a hotel room is a lot smaller than a house and that there is a lot less privacy than in a house!

5. You can cook in a house. Let's face itif you don't look into good vacation home rentals, you may end up in a small hotel room where you are unable to cook anything, not even a bag of popcorn! The only options that you have are to eat out or bring something backvacation home rentals give you loads more options!
