The Puggle is an adorably small mixed breed dog that was made by crossing a Beagle and a Pug. This combination formed a small hound dog that has a thick body style, short smooth hair, floppy ears, curly tail, short legs, and wrinkles around the mouth and forehead. When considering purchasing a Puggle, look for these specific traits because they are signs of a good quality Puggle. These small dogs stand about a foot high at the shoulders, and usually weigh between 20 and 30 pounds. They are short and stocky with short, muscular legs. Since these dogs are a mix breed, their shape and size can vary. One Puggle may resemble another, while the next one will not look like the first two at all. Puggles are ideal dogs for families with children, whether young or old, these dogs enjoy people. Unlike some bulldog breeds, Puggles are also great companions for senior citizens because of their loving nature and laid back attitude. Puggles need to have basic care given to them, but not as much as other breeds. They need to be brushed once a week to remove excess hair, and bathed once a month to help avoid dry, itchy skin. The owner should brush their teeth daily, and take them into a groomer every couple of months to prevent plague buildup, which causes pain and cavities within their teeth. Puggles are a small, adorably affectionate breed of dog that is ideal for all types of families. They get along with most people and animals, do not have any aggressive tendencies, and they are loyal almost to a fault.
