The Reading Site Review - How I Downloaded Hundreds Of Ebooks For My iPad
The Reading Site has been a really great source of content for my iPad.For those iPad owners who have notheard of The Reading Site yet, it is an ebook downloading website where you can download unlimited free ebooks for a one off membership fee.
I purchased my membership a few months ago for $99, but it has recently dropped down to $50. You can check it out for yourself by clicking here.
I have an iPad, if you have any other ereader device such as the Kindle or Nook then The Reading Site will still work for you because you can download each ebook in a range of different formats. They even have PDF format for a PC or MAC.
Anyway, as soon as I joined The Reading Site I was given instant access to their catalog of over 1 million titles! I have only managed to download about 100 titles so far (have not even read them all yet!) so there really is enough content in The Reading Site to last me a lifetime!
You have to be online when you download an ebook so it is not some sort of offline database that you download. But once you have downloaded an ebook you can then go off and read that ebook for free whenever you like.
I was also impressed with the range of other media they had at The Reading site. There is a comic section, newspapers, apps, games and satellite tv. The newspaper section is nothing special as you can just go and get them for free from the website of each newspaper. But it is still a nice added bonus in addition to the ebook titles.
I noticed that some of the new releases in ebooks do take a week or so before they appear on The Reading Site, so you need to be patient when something new comes out. But apart from that I can't really compain really. I have been impressed with their service and they provide a welcome alternative to other stores such as Apple or Amazon.
