The Role Of Designer Sunglasses As Part Of Your Summer Look

With the sun out and shining, we all tend to dress accordingly

. Often we can be caught short when the good weather finally does arrive and have to buy a whole new wardrobe for the warmer conditions. For most of us with a keen eye for fashion, a new pair of designer sunglasses is a must for the summer months.

When it gets too stuffy and humid for jeans and your cotton t-shirts are starting to make you a little uncomfortable, it's time to start shopping for that summer style. Linen trousers are an increasingly popular alternative to jeans for those who don't particularly like to get their legs out despite the summer sun. The white linen look is pretty minimalist and the material is light and airy, helping you to look cool as well as feeling cooler. White or cream designer sunglasses tend to offset this style particularly well, with many of the major upmarket brands designing shades with this look in mind.

Cargo shorts are also popular at the moment, with casual shorts and three-quarter lengths having phased out sports brands and board shorts over the past few years. This look compliments the popular aviator style of designer sunglasses that was originally championed by Ray-Ban but is now a staple design for many brands. A lot of men choose to accompany the cargo short look with chequered shirts, which have slowly edged into the mainstream having initially been viewed as something of a trademark of the indie and emo scenes. Another alternative is a ribbed vest. Vests are gradually becoming a more acceptable choice for fashionable men; however they can look pretty revolting and tacky on the wrong figure. Choosing the right vest is crucial; the white string vest really isn't a good look, no matter what else you are wearing alongside it.

Other accessories can help set off your designer sunglasses, with trilbies having replaced trucker hats as the trendy headwear of choice. Choosing accessories as a male is all about balance, overdoing it can look cheap and nasty and can even make a statement about your sexuality that you may not have intended. For example, a trilby, sunglasses and a neck scarf is a little too much going on in one place and can draw attention away from your features. Ultimately you should remember that accessories, shades included, are only there to accentuate your features, not cover them up or divert attention away from them.
