Ibiza is the smallest of the main Balearic islands
, 'discovered' by artists and hippies in the 1960's. If all you know of Ibiza is the trashy TV show that play on Satellite TV then you're in for a bit of a pleasant surprise when you come and visit. Ibiza is a partying paradise for the millions of holiday-makers who land each year; but there is also a relaxed side to Ibiza with its 18km ofbeaches where you can discover some excellent and almost deserted coves.
Renting a car is the best way to enjoy the island. The best beaches are only available by car [and boat obviously] I would be careful about renting a moped. Loads of people get killed and injured riding. Ibiza drivers are not the best and many people drive on drinks and pills.
Most people choose to visit for the brilliant weather, fine beaches, Spanish culture and the nightlife. But there's much more on offer like the great food and wine, amazing scenery and water sports. There's also great scope for walking and horse riding when things get a little cooler between October and April. November can still be warm and sunny but much more unpredictable.
San Antonio on the west coast of Ibiza is a great place to come on holiday " this beautiful bay with its lovely beaches, spectacular sunsets and Mediterranean sunshine is very attractive. San An tends to be spoiled by the English in football shirts. There are plenty of English bars and greasy spoon cafes to help the English feel like they never left home. You can spot the English as they trudge around too hot and red with sunburn.
Ibiza has lots to offer no matter what type of holiday you are after. You sure to have an amazing time in the Balearics. It's worth pointing out that ibiza pretty much closes down for the winter once the clubs shut in October. Which is a shame as it's a great place to visit all year around.
