The Samsung Galaxy S3 Is Likely To Include Wireless Charging

After months and months of rumours and speculation

, Samsung have finally confirmed a date for the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S3. The Korean tech giants third instalment of the Galaxy S series looks set to be every bit as successful as its predecessors, the original Galaxy S and the highly popular (record breaking, in fact), Galaxy S2.

Samsung has began sending out invites to an event in London, scheduled for May 3rd. The flyer simply reads Come and meet the next Galaxy. We would have liked a few more details, so it would seem that Samsung have some very exciting features to unveil.

The rumour mill has recently been on overdrive, with different sources of varying levels of credibility claiming to have leaked photos, blueprints and spec sheets for the Galaxy S3. But finally on May 3rd, we will know for sure whether the speculated 12 megapixel camera, quad-core 1.5 GHz processor, NCF, 4G and wireless charging are a reality.

Aside from the aforementioned features, it is also likely that the display will also see a significant upgrade from the Galaxy S2, after all, Samsung already have an 800x 1280 screen on the Galaxy Note. The size of the screen is also likely to be increased from the 4.3 inches of its predecessor.

The release of the Samsung Galaxy S3 promises to be one of the biggest tech releases of the year, but it is sure to have serious competition from Apple, who are also sure to release their next generation iPhone next year. Likely to be the iPhone 5, this will probably set a new benchmark to which other smartphone are compared, just like previous versions of the popular iPhone series.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 will go head to head with the iPhone 5 in the ongoing debate iOS versus Android debate. However, as the flagship releases from arguably the two biggest consumer technology companies in the world, we are sure to be treated to some next generation smartphone technology.

It is likely that both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Apple iPhone 5 will be exclusive to one UK network provider when they are first released, with contract deals being offered by others a couple of months after their initial release. This is usually the case with new highly publicised smartphone releases. If you want to get your hands on either device, you can expect to be offered deals which include a free handset, albeit with a higher monthly payment. At the other end of the scale, you can choose to pay for the phone outright, which although expensive initially, will usually involve a much smaller monthly payment.

Be sure to check out my future articles for the lowdown on the Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 after their release, where I will look at their features in much more detail, so you can choose between the two most exciting smartphones of 2012.
