The Samsung Galaxy Tab is among one of the latest portable tablet devices available and the first from Samsung
. It has a large 7 inch display and a front-facing 1.3 megapixel camera for video conference along with a rear-facing more powerful 3 megapixel auto focus camera with an LED flash.
The tablet has an extremely thin and portable design weighing only 380 grams respectively, and features a 7 inch TFT display with WSVGA (1024 by 600) pixel resolution and 169 pixels per inch depth. It features an integrated Assisted GPS antenna which allows for location based services and applications to be used on the device, as well as its multi-touch and zoom interface which includes multiple home screens and hybrid widgets on top of the powerful and fast Android 2.2 (Froyo) operating system which provides the possibility to download many further applications to the device. Additionally, the device has a 1 GHz application processor to allow it to power multiple applications at once, and has up to 7 hours of movie playback battery life. Its internal memory is either 16 or 32 gigabytes and is further enhanced with a microSD card slot which offers up to another 32 gigabytes of memory.
Email is fully integrated with Google Mail and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync both preinstalled and ready for use through the full HSUPA and HSDPA 3G along with the backup of EDGE and GPRS and also Wi-Fi connectivity to allow fast and ever-present internet connection. The Web scan be browsed on et large display through the Android browser featuring support for full HTML and Flash 10.1 player. The ThinkFree document viewer and editor also allows you to manipulate attachments outside the office.
The Galaxy Tab provides excellent social networking features with integrated social network services (SNS), its email capabilities as well as instant messaging. It also provides an integrated calendar which combines Google, Facebook and Outlook.
