When Samsung began to release the idea that a tablet would be released by the company, it sent the tablet marketplace into a frenzy. Until that time, it was thought that Apple rule the marketplace for a long time to come. But, the Samsung Galaxy Tablet seems like it will be a real competitor.

It also features a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor and 16 GB of RAM standard, upgradable to 32 GB. It also has an expansion slot for an extra 32 GB.

Unlike the iPad, the Galaxy comes standard with a forward facing and rear facing camera. The lack of a camera on the iPad has disappointed fans, so Samsung has an advantage here. It also comes standard with WiFi.

As far as operating system is concerned, the Samsung Galaxy Tablet uses the Android 2.2 OS. An advantage to this is the Android is a very open ended, application-based operating system. Many developers are getting on board to bring applications to the consumers at a rapid pace.

With Google getting even more involved in this operating system, you can be assured that development on the android platform will continue for a long time to come.

Whether or not, the Samsung Galaxy Tablet will be at your competitor in the tablet market remains to be seen. However, Samsung is a very dedicated manufacturer that has always been known for its quality products.

This will be a good weapon in the battle between the Samsung Galaxy Tablet and the Apple iPad.
