The Samsung S8500 Wave Impresses With Its Super Amoled Touch Screen!

This new Smartphone developed by Samsung could be the next handset for you

. The Samsung S8500 Wave is packed full of features. The bodywork is visually appealing with its lightweight, slim line metal chassis and its 10.9mm waistline, and no space has been wasted around its bright 3.3inch tempered glass touch screen. The Wave operates using the Bada operating system. Combine this powerful OS with TouchWiz 3.0 technology and you have a very functional device at your disposal.

The Wave, unlike other TouchWiz devices runs incredibly smoothly with almost no lag at all. This could be down to the phones operating system. Bada in Korean means ocean. The Wave certainly reflects this by running very fluidly from screen to screen whether you are performing regular functions or browsing the web. The handset is also home to its 1GHz CPU which no doubt plays its part in the phones high performance.

Visually the Wave is no less than spectacular and its ability to generate a high resolution picture is remarkable. The phones AMOLED capacitive touch screen with WVGA resolution makes for a very clear image displaying up to 16 million colours. Samsung have even given the screen an Oleophobic glaze to prevent those bothersome fingerprint smudges left after use.

The Samsung S8500 Wave offers a few upgrades from previous TouchWiz devices. With the TouchWiz 3.0 user interface you now have the option of having multiple home screens, and all of your widgets are now gathered in a small field at the foot of the screen. Typically the main menu involves numerous pages, and your icons can now be tailored to suite your own needs.

Another fine element thrown in the mix involves the phone book application. With the Ultimate Phonebook feature it is within your power to see all e-mails from all inboxes united into one Ultimate Inbox. Also using the Phonebook you can link contacts to there IM and keep up to date with there online activities and status updates via the SNS function (Social Network Service), this gives you the option of contacting your friends in multiple formats, such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace Google Talk and Skype.

The Samsung Wave offers a pretty good Web browsing experience too; the Dolphin Browser 2.0 is capable software and is generally based on WebKit. The page loading and scrolling is reasonably quick and with the multi touch function that comes with the user interface the pinch and spread zoom function is useful when checking out images. To reduce chances of accidentally entering links you have to double tap a link to trigger it.

Samsung have given there Bada Smartphones an App store similar to Apples App store and Googles Android market. Samsung Apps will offer numerous Apps for games and other functions; this will help to keep them competitive in the Smartphone market.

The S8500 has a standard 5mega pixel camera which has LED flash and auto focus built in, it is rather basic, but its simple and easy to use, despite it being pretty customary it is capable of shooting 720p HD video recordings. The Super AMOLED screen is well within its limits when it comes to playing HD video files, in several formats such as DivX, Xvid and H.264.

The music player on the Samsung Wave gives you a very pretty interface to work with when organising and playing back your tunes, the sound quality when played through the headset is sharp and very clear. The device has a 2GB internal memory with a micro SD slot built in so you have plenty of potential space for your media files

In short, the Samsung S8500 Wave will have little problem in applying some heat for its competitors in the Smartphone market. It has all the credentials to go far and will be in many pockets come the end of the year.
