The Samsung Vibrant Launches

Another recent entry into the global smartphone market

, Samsung's Vibrant is a highly mentioned phone of the Samsung Galaxy S series, creating competition for big contenders such as the Droid, iPhone and Evo. The new phone, which features a four inch display with a Super AMOLED touch screen and HD quality videos, quickly became an appealing device for many users. The phone is thinner than a Droid X and EVO, also weighs the least of these cellular phones, at 4.16 ounces. The Samsung Vibrant runs on the android 2.1 OS and uses the TouchWi 3.0 interface, designed by Samsung. The Vibrant also features a 1 GHz processor and 16GB of internal memory.

Although the phone doesn't have flash, the high quality 5.0 megapixel camera ensures crisp pictures and videos. In addition, Samsung loaded its phone with many goodies, including The Sims 3, Slacker Radio and James Camero's Avatar. Other notable entertainment additions include: MobiTV, Amazon Kindle, GoGo Inflight internet service, and the Samsung Media Hub. Consumers can also purchase and download other applications in the Android Market.

The Samsung phone, newly released, is already attracting much attention, and has instantly barreled its way to the top of many consumers' wish-list for smartphones. Out of all the Galaxy S series phones, the sleek Samsung Vibrant earned top marks for its smooth design. The Vibrant offers many new developments of the Samsung phone industry, such as the super-crisp Super AMOLED touch screen, which delivers stunning, rich colors and gives reason for the phone's name. Adding to the functionality of the touch screen, which should be protected with one of the many Samsung Vibrant screen protectors, the phone utilizes the Swype software, which allows for more efficient typing and texting.

Along with all the great preloaded content and applications, the Vibrant also delivers excellent call quality. This smooth, sleek phone serves as a great entry point for Samsung's involvement in the smartphone industry, but, due to all the features stuffed into the phone, it suffers a bit from bad battery life. A customer should invest in some Samsung Vibrant accessories like an extra wall or car charger to combat the poor battery.

Despite minor complaints of the plastic and slick feel of the phone, which can be remedied with Samsung Vibrant cases, the phone overall has substantiated much praise in main review sites as well as blogs. The improved interface, vibrant screens, and included applications have immediately set the phone as a direct competition to the iPhone and other related smartphones. Moreover, Samsung promises a faster and more efficient platform after the release of Android 2.2.
