Nearly every new home business owner starts their business the same way

. If you are anything like me, you had a warm fuzzy feeling because you have been convinced you will just have to contact your warm list to build your business. Not only will you be able to share a great product with them and give them the opportunity to make a lot of money with their own home business but you will be getting in touch with some folks you haven't seen for a while. It's always great to touch base with old friends.

Once you get several rejections, friends who don't show up even though promising they'd be there, losing several friends and you figure out this isn't as much fun as you thought. You want to quit trying to sell to your friends and family but you don't want to give up on your dream either. wouldn't it be less painful to learn how to effectively build a home business using the Internet?

It makes perfect sense, especially in this technology age we are in where everyone is connected by the Internet. I know my thought was, "Man, why keep trying to sell to friends and family who have no interest while millions are probably searching the Internet for what I have to offer?" I mean, It makes a lot of sense to learn to get people who want my product or opportunity to contact me?

For a lot of people, that presents 3 problems. I really had 4. My first problem was, I couldn't find the on/off switch on a computer and couldn't type. :=) But, the 3 main problems are, the methods taught by most sponsors (telling your "friends" about your biz opportunity) you tried offline work even less online, you can't afford to advertise for your business, and if you could afford it you wouldn't know where to begin to compete with the competition and be economical.

When building a home business, it is more important to sign up the right people than just signing up as many as you can. If you sign up people who not ready for your opportunity it is an enormous waste of your energy because they will drop out. The secret to effectively building a home business is having so many people filling up your prospect list that you cannot get to them all. If you have a never ending source of prospects to sort through it will be the most important asset you have. With millions of people online, using the Internet to build a home business is just a natural conclusion if you want success.

The only way it will work though is if you learn how to use your words to grab the attention of your prospects. Then you need to keep them reading your ad, article, press release, blog entry, sales page, social media profile, forum posting, or email. And finally you need them to take action, whether it's buying something or joining you or just giving you their contact information and maybe buying something from you in the future.

So, if the secret to building a home business is having enough leads or prospects so you will be able to sort through and choose the right ones for your business and building a home business using the Internet will require you to do it with written words, doesn't it make perfect sense that the secret to your success will rest in what copywriting skills you can develop? It all boils down to "selling" with your words. Even if you are using videos you will still have to learn and use the right words and phrases that "sell."

There are other things you will have to learn to build a home business using the Internet like how to use certain tools and software but all the other stuff like sponsoring, recruiting, list building, capture pages, affiliate programs, email marketing, advertising, etc... will only be as effective as your own copywriting skills. You can struggle for years without succeeding if you don't get this right.
