The Secrets For Brewing Tea & Retaining A Great Flavor

Tea presses, infusers, and cup teapots are very similar

. Using the same design as the French coffee press, what they are used for is to brew actual loose tea leaves. There are many advantages of using these instead of conventional tea bags and brewers. For one thing, they save on waste. While the tea itself is biodegradable right away, the bag container isn't and takes time to break down. Using just the tea leaves means no bags to throw away after just one, maybe two cups. The next thing that makes these products so good is that you can use tea leaves that are fresh, straight from your garden, or the produce aisle at your local health food store. With boxed store bought teas, who knows how long they have been sitting on the shelf, and many are stale, or have lost their flavor.

Basically it works like this. The container is a longer tube or carafe, with a tight fitting lid that has a strainer press built into it with a handle. You simply add your favorite tea leaves, add hot water, and put on the lid. After steeping for the allotted time, when you are ready to enjoy, you simply push the press strainer down through the container, to the bottom of the carafe, leaving only freshly brewed tea water behind. Now some of these tea infusers have two strainers, one at the bottom, as well as the press strainer at the top, effectively making it a basket, so you can remove the leaves easy.

You will find there are a number of sizes the infuser teapots come in, and in general they will handle between two and four cups at a single time. Now, they aren't a specialty item, but they are difficult to find in most stores. Normally, you will have to go to a local teashop or online to get one. But if you do go online, take some things to heart.

If you are new to tea infusers, small cup teapots or even presses, then look around before buying. Take the time to do some price comparisons and see what you can choose from. Look at brands, products available and various online retailers. They will not only have difference in prices, but products and reviews often as well. This will help you to understand a product better, and see what real customers think about it.

If you are looking at buying tea leaves, you have a number of options. You can grow them in containers in your home, or out in your garden, and there is usually a blend you can grow in your local area depending on the climate. You will be able to find seeds or starter plants to choose from which are normally cheap. But if you don't have room for growing, you can go to your store or health food store to pick up these leaves. If you choose to buy in bulk, you can save some money as you try different brands in a smaller quantity. This will help you to waste far less, and find the perfect cup of tea.
