The registry of your PC should be always kept free of errors in order to prevent your PC to crashes or other problems. You should always remember that, regular maintenance checks of the Windows registry are crucial for a computers good performance. You need to use good registry cleaners to ensure that the registries are free of errors and failures. There are many causes that resulted in Windows registry errors. Here I will share with you the seven most common causes : 1. The accumulation of old and unnecessary entries. An entry is recorded on the registry every time we have done something on the computer. Ideally, these entries should be removed each time we use the computer. In many cases, however, they remain in the registry and eventually give our PC some problem. This is the first of the many common causes of Windows registry errors. 2. Improper computer shutdown. When the computer is in use, the registry is stored in its memory. Just before we shutdown the PC, any alterations will be transferred and written to the system registry. If a system crash, power failure, or improper shutdown happens, then this can leave corrupted entries in the memory and resulted in the registry damaged. 3. Registry holes. In most cases, a void or vacant space is left behind whenever an entry in the registry is removed. After many removals, many voids or spaces fill the registry and fragment it. This fragmentation can often cause a registry unstable and can slow down the computer system significantly. 4. Malicious entries by malware. Viruses, Trojans, spyware, and even adware regularly place entries in the registry. These can cause numerous system errors and even damage the registry severely. These malware can causes computer system to crash or slow down. 5. Software companies usually place embedded keys in the registry to save information about software applications on the computer system. But when discovered by spyware programs, these embedded keys become targets and can be used to add non-removable entries in the registry system. With regular installation and removal of software, these embedded keys can accumulate and expand the registry to an unmanageable size. 6. Orphan keys may be inadvertently left behind in the registry after software removals. During the installation process, entries are added to the registry. But when software is uninstalled, these entries may not have been removed and give rise to registry errors. 7. Duplicated keys from software reinstallation or upgrades. When we reinstall or upgrade new software, some keys are entered into the registry without removing the previous entries. Too much of the keys and entries can filled up of the registry.
