It may sound harsh, but in the cold light of day, you will be happy you did it so you dont end up with unfinished work and a blown out budget. One other consideration to make while having contractors in your home is insurance. If they break or take something, will you be covered? If they do break something (i.e. a window) while working is this will come under your home insurance?

4.Speaking of Insurance: When your renovation is nearing completion its important to value the house again. Hopefully the number is higher than when you first started! If so, its important to remember that you may not be insured for the new value of your home. Therefore, its always important to notify your insurer and take out the appropriate additional cover.
