, and is quite well known for its devices and models. The Japanese company is well known for its habit of unleashing highly thought out and designed mobile phones in the market. However, very few people know that there was a time when Sony and Ericsson were two different entities making cell phones and catering to the same market. While Sony's mobile phones back them had great designs and even some revolutionary features, it somehow lost the race to Nokia and Motorola. In the meantime, Ericsson was quite content creating everyday phones that had the basic features and general designs. It was only after Sony and Ericsson came together that they created a loud noise in the mobile market, especially after Sony decided to bring out the big guns to its mobile manufacturing unit. Here are two Sony decisions that have made it a formidable opponent to the other mobile manufacturers.

Implementing the Walkman technology into Mobile Phones:

Before the Walkman technology was implemented into mobile phones, they were just devices that could play music, and sometimes you couldn't hear the music even if you had earphones plugged into your ear. With the implementation of Walkman, complete with music player, playlists and other revolutionary features, Sony Ericsson came back into the game of making highly successful mobile phones. So successful was this model that even the latest Sony Ericsson phones are of the Walkman series, the music quality of whom can now be contested by the latest Nokia Cell phones.

Implementing the Cyber Shot technology into Mobile Phones:

With the implementation of Walkman technology, the mobile market started looking for newer and better features, and Sony Ericsson did not disappoint them. They launched the K Series phones, which had the Cyber Shot technology, which basically allowed users to click high resolution and good quality photographs from their phones. This was a great option back when people used to fawn over 1.3 megapixel cameras. Of course, other mobile manufacturers took their cue and the latest Nokia cell phones have Carl Zeiss lenses in their camera, while the latest Sony Ericsson cell phones have a great camera quality.

These are the two most important business decisions that helped in getting Sony Ericsson back into the top mobile manufacturer's group.
