The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Utilises A Range Of Multimedia Functions

With impressive features including the ability to shoot video in HD quality

, the recently released Sony Ericsson Vivaz looks set to be one of the most talked about handset releases of the year.

The ability to shoot HD video is certainly the main selling point of the Vivaz. This is thanks to the built in digital camera which features a whopping 8 mega pixels. Operating at a pixel resolution of 3264x2448, this allows HD quality video and photos to be taken. It also includes a range of features such as autofocus, LED flash, video calling, touch focus, geo-tagging and face and smile detection. Thanks to these features the task of taking great photos and videos is never a chore. Video is filmed in 720p quality at 24 fps. The video feature includes continuous autofocus and a video light for low lighting conditions.

In order to store photos and video taken with the impressive camera, 75 MB of internal storage is provided. If users wish to attain more storage, for example if they want to store a large number of music tracks, then the micro SD slot can be utilised. This is provided with a pre-installed 8 GB memory card as standard, however, this can be increased up to 16 GB. The internal phonebook can store a vast number of entries and fields and includes the photocall feature.

Users can browse the web in areas covered by the 3G network thanks to a HSDPA connection which is available at 10.2 Megabytes per second, along with HSUPA at 2 Megabytes per second. Where a signal from a wireless internet router can be detected, Wi-Fi connectivity takes over to provide a faster internet browsing experience. Connection to cellular networks is provided by class 10 versions of both GPRS and EDGE.

As expected from an entertainment device of this calibre, a versatile media player is included. It supports most common video and music file formats, and of course the capability to display High Definition Content. Additional entertainment features include stereo FM radio playback and a selection of games along with access to a library of downloadable games.

The TFT resistive touch screen measures 3.2 inches and offers excellent display quality. This is because it displays up to 16 million colours at 360x640 pixels.

The list of entertainment features makes the Sony Ericsson Vivaz a true entertainment masterpiece. Given its versatility, ample storage and fast internet browsing, it would be a surprise if the Vivaz was not a popular handset.
