The Sound Approach Of Contact Lenses Wearing

More and more people suffering from eyesight problems choose to wear contacts for vision correction because of the invisibility of glasses

. Most of them often have had a hard time adjusting to contact lenses. Weeks may even be taken before they completely feel comfortable with lenses. To make sure that you are wearing your contacts the right way, follow those tips no matter you use the contacts for the first time or have been using for some time:

1. Place the lens on your finger tip where the lens will form a natural concave and raise your finger up to eye level to check the lens is inside out or not. If it turns to be like half of a ball, the lens is rightly formed while if the rim of the convex appears flared out, the lens is inverted. Some lenses are easy to recognize the lens is inverted or not: the tinted lenses, if rightly formed, appear to have darker edges and some manufacturers would etch their brand names onto the surface, providing an obvious mark for the right side of the lens for the wearers to make out. Wearing contacts lenses that are inside out will make your eyes extremely uncomfortable. There is even a sign of red eyes and watery eyes. Therefore to make sure the lenses are correctly formed before you wear them is quite important, but there is no risk involved in applying the lens to your eyes inside out.

2. Before putting on or taking off your lenses off, make sure your hands are clean so as not to contaminate them with any harmful germs or dirt. It would be best to wash your hands with soaps, but those that are oily or too scented are not suitable, for they may damage the lens. Always clean the lenses with appropriate solution to maintain eye health, but not use products containing lanolin.

3. Basic guidelines for contact lens application include: gently shake the lens case with contacts immersed in storage solution so as to loosen them should it be stuck; pick up the lens from the case and put it on the tip of your finger which should be dry and clean (try not to pull at the lens in case of damaging it for it is fairly delicate); pull up on your upper eyelid and down on your lower eyelid with the fingers of your other hand, and then gently put the lens in place; roll your eyes in a complete circle to help the lens settle, then blink.

4. On the condition that your eyes feel uncomfortable or suffer from red eyes or watery eyes, it is possible that the lenses are not placed properly. Then you have to remove the lens and rinse them again properly under the guideline mentioned above. Try to remove lenses at a clean table, because the lenses may accidentally fall off and try not to remove your lenses in front of a sink, for fear the lens falling into the drain.
