The Story Of Designer Label Satya Paul

Satya Paul was founded on April 1, 1985 by Indian designer Satya Paul

. He was born in Leigha, Muzaffargarh (now in Pakistan) and migrated to India with his family after partition. Satya Paul started his career by lending a helping hand to his father in running a restaurant. There, he got chance to mingle with various artists, who were regular at the restaurant, and he soon discovered within him a love for textiles.

He started retailing in 1965 and silently spurred the growth of textile industry, transforming it to a never-seen stature. Anticipating the future of fashion in India, Satya Paul launched the designer label Satya Paul.

Satya Paul ushered in a slew of innovation in the Indian fashion industry. It became the first designer label to showcase collections in the format of fashion shows- now its a popular concept. It also introduced the style of printing designer logo on sarees.

Satya Paul also established two of the best fashion stores in the country in early 70s- Heritage and L affaire- both have managed to establish a niche in the country.

Today, Satya Paul is well known across the world for printed saree and bridal wear. Hailed by The New York Times as work of art, the designer label has transcended borders- it is well known in countries like Japan, UAE, France, Italy, Germany and UK.

The designer label boast a varied range of extended product lines which comprises of saris, Sarees, anarkalis, readymade blouses, tops, tunics and bridal wear; fusion and western clothing; accessories like scarves and handbags; mens accessories such as ties, cufflinks, wallets, belts and pen; and fabrics.
