In 1904, a Quaker woman who named Elizabeth (Lizzie) J. Magie Philips, formed a game which she hoped to describe the horrific aspects of private monopolies in a concentrating land. The game was named as "The Landlord's Game" was officially launched after a few years. In the result, Lizzie revised her game into a brand new edition and patented it in 1904.
