The Story of Mary and Joe
This is Part I of the Story of Mary and Joe
Two business people, Mary and Joe, in their office. They suddenly hear a sound. A ringing sound. They glance to a desk where a little square device is positioned. This device is ringing, over and over.
They stare at this device, no idea what to do.
Mary: "Oh my god, that thing on the desk is making that ringing sound again."
Joe: "Dammit! I'm getting really tired of this nonsense!"
Joe moves toward the ringing machine. Mary grabs his arm. "Wait! Don't touch it! It might blow up or something! Are you crazy!!!"
Feeling Mary's fear, Joe steps back. They both stand motionless staring at the ringing machine.
Later that day, Mary and Joe, having a patio lunch. Joe has an envelop in his hand, an invoice for a client. Mary asks Joe what he is going to do with the envelop. Joe looks at the envelop, a bit confused.
"I need to get this invoice to my client."
Joe then tosses the envelop up toward the sky. A gust of wind swoops the envelop away until it disappears out of site.
Mary: "I hope that invoice gets to where it needs to go."
Joe: "I hope so too."
A few years later . . .
Joe and Mary (miraculously still in business) stand perplexed staring at this strange looking device on a desk in their office. It looks like a thin typewriter with a strange thin television screen attached.
Mary: "Oh my god, that thing on the desk is making that beeping sound again."
Joe: "Dammit! I'm getting really tired of this nonsense!"
Mary and Joethen realized that they were deeply in love and spent the rest of their lives enjoying an extremely passionate love affair.
The End
Can you imagine what life would be like if we never learned how to use new technology?
More important, can you imagine how futile business would be, in the year 2010, not knowing how to use the Internet for maximum results in a real business environment?
Many businesses today are still greatly in the dark when it comes to FULLY using the Internet for business. Sure, we all send emails, and websites are a dime a dozen.
Unlike Mary and Joe, we really need to get much more REALISTIC about the benefits of the Internet and how this "device" can transform our business success in our techno, modern age. Dismissing the Internet or feeling frustrated about it is no longer an option.
Help is everywhere. Seminars, webinars, downloadable instruction manuals, books, the list goes on. It is now crucial to take some serious steps to learn more about the incredible power of the Internet for business.
Make the commitment to properly educate yourself. You will not be disappointed.
Alternate ending to the story: If you have a better ending to Joe and Mary's story (other than them spending their entire life's having an extremely passionate love affair) please write an alternative ending and I will use the best ending inpart 2 of the "Mary and Joe" saga.
