As the pace of life in today's world grows ever faster, people seem forever on the go. With so many things to do and so little time to relax, people are used to neglecting their physical and mental health. Among those people, the state of health of white-collar workers remains depressingly far off by comparison. Compared with other groups, the proportion workers are suffering from cervical spondylosis and laryngitis worse. It seems that the white-collar groups should pay more attention to their own health.

A report on stress in working life was published by the Swedish Confederation of Professional Employees in 2000 shows that nine out of ten white-collar workers work against the clock in their daily tasks, forty percent of them always skip their lunch and break time and sixty-five percent of them don't have time enough to finish their tasks properly. And almost all the white-collar workers face computers all the whole day. A health survey also shows that whole days spent facing a computer and looming deadlines can leave you with backaches, neckaches, headaches, and any other kind of ache imaginable.

Why the white-collar workers are prone to those diseases? There are three main reasons. At first, the office environment plays an important role. They are mostly work in office buildings which located in the center of a city with bad air quality. And their office equipped with central air-conditioning to control the temperature. As we all know, air-conditioning has its down-sides. Along with the cleaning difficulties, air-conditioning affects the air quality inside the office. In addition, the poor ventilation of high building is easy to breed bacteria and viruses.


Secondly, long-term mental stress without relaxation will cause the immune suppression. Modern scientific research confirmed that immunity reduction cause the number of lymphocytes in human blood. Most white-collar workers lived in an irregular lifestyle. Under this condition, the balance of the Permanent Mission of bacteria is easy to break which will lead to the weakened immunity.


The third reason, the white-collar workers neglect the importance of doing exercises. Maybe you could say, "I have no time to do exercises." Yes, most of their time took at work and office. But it is saying time is like the water in sponge. If you squeeze, you can always get some. Actually, you could do some small exercises only if you distribute properly the time.

Then, I'd like to give some advice to keep your fit even if you are a busy white-collar worker. At first, you need to improve the office environment. You just need to bring houseplants to the office and put at the desk. For example, cactus is good at the radiation protection of computer. Rosemary, myrtus communis, bracket-plant has the function of sterilization. If you put one of them at office, bacillus and microorganism will be induced at a great extent.

In office, you don't need to do more experience to keep fit. Adopting a correct sitting posture is one of the simplest and easiest things that anyone can do to reduce these postural stresses and strains. And then you could try to massage some parts of your body, such as shoulder, backside, pars cervicalis part and so on. It is necessary to take a portable message to office. Soaking your feet in warm water is a very useful and easy way to allay tiredness and sleep well. It is better to purchase a foot massage. This kind of massage won't waste your time and energy.

The last one but not the least, a reasonable eating habit and regular lifestyle are very important for your health. It is hard for most people to make the good habit. Once you keep the habit, health is a no problem for you.
