The Beginning Of The Year
n February one of the most exciting events all year will take place in Dublin: the Five Nations Rugby Tournament. The entire tournament will not end until April, but games will only happen in Dublin during February.
On March 17th all the arrangements for the St. Patrick's Day Festival will fall together in a huge party. The St. Patrick's Day in Dublin is simply stunning, and the entire city is full of special activities for this famous day; you can see street theatres being held all over the town and more special shows all until the early morn.
Summertime
Every year in Phoenix Park, the Bloom garden event comes to Dublin. This unique gardening event brings in 60,000 visitors on an yearly basis. There's plenty of delicious food and drink and it's just a nice way to enjoy an afternoon.
You can check out the Summer Music Festival the whole summer long. You can view free lunchtime concerts that have traditional and popular music, and you can even watch Shakespeare plays in the open air.
The Fall
In the end of September, the All Ireland Football Final is played on the second Sunday at Croke Park, which is popular for Gaelic football.
In October, you could lace up your sneakers and take part in the Dublin City Marathon, which trails throughout Dublin and passes many famous landmarks. If you do want to participate, you'll be one of thousands who run in this marathon annually.
Winter Months
The Troy and Train Collector's Fair is held in to Dublin on the final Sunday of November. You can purchase, trade, and sell comics, teddy bears, dolls, model cars, and more at this fair. If you want to feel a bit of nostalgia, attend this fair where many people showcase their antique treasures for all in attendance.
You can close the year up by going to Leopardstown Races, which is a four day event and the biggest horse racing event in the country. Naturally, there's also Christmas season celebrations to attend that will definitely get you in the holiday cheer.
There is just too much to enjoy in Dublin during 2011; making a full list of things to do is impossible. All you need to do is pick a month, any month, and you'll find something you enjoy and lots of hotels in Dublin to pick from. And if you want to take the entire family to Dublin, even the kids, you can relax since they'll discover something they like too.
