The Three HTML Editors and Knowing Which One is Right For Your Website Design Needs

Did you know that there are three different types of HTML editors? The one you are probably the most familiar with is WYSIWYG editors, which are the types of website design software programs that let you create websites visually. Adobe Dreamweaver is a good example of this type of HTML editor, although it isn't strictly a WYSIWYG editor. Dreamweaver allows users such as companies that do website design in Sydney to create websites two ways - visually (WYSIWYG) or coded (HTML).

Often called website builder programs, WYSIWYG HTML editors are a good way for those who aren't familiar with coding to design websites. But many who work for places that offer website design in Sydney require more complex types of HTML editors, and instead choose to work exclusively with text and object editors. Knowing what they know about these two types of editors can help you decide if you have the coding knowledge necessary to work with these types of editors, or if a WYSIWYG editor is better for you.

A text editor is one that requires website designers to work directly with the HTML code, with no editing interface. (An editing interface is what lets designers visually design websites, rather than by code). These types of editors also require designers to understand any other web technologies he or she would like to use on their website, such as CSS, JavaScript, etc. Object editors work in much the same way, except that the coding modes are more visually organized that with text editing, which only use color highlighting.

Now, if you understood all of that, then you probably have the knowledge base to be successful using a text or object editor to design your own website. If you understood it, but have never worked with either type of HTML editor before, then you at least have the knowledge base needed to learn how to use these two types of HTML editors. There are different ways to learn how to use both editors - classes, online e-courses, and books, to name a few. Choose a learning program that best suits the way you learn - if you learn best by example, then a live class is a good way to learn how to use text and object HTML editors.
