The Three Roads Painters Take On The Road Towards Practicing Pop Art
There are three major ways in which ordinary painters typically evolve into pop art practitioners
. Painters can start out in various forms or fields of art, such as conventional abstract expressionism. In this discussion, we will refer to those who started out in something that is not popular art as 'ordinary painters'. It is a fact that conventional art has always been viewed as being a bit elitist. It has evolved to popular art, though; however, said evolution could only be described as slow. In a way, you can also describe this shift as an evolution because of the growth that the artists believe they have sustained through it all. Becoming popular art practitioners cannot be achieved overnight or in the blink of an eye. It is often a simultaneous process: they create popular art but they do not stop with their conventional art works.
After some time, you will notice a shift in their concentration, with them veering towards creating popular art works more than conventional art. They will eventually earn the tag 'pop artists' when conventional art has been completely let go off and, in its place, only popular art works are being created. This evolution from conventional art to popular art could be attributed to a number of triggers, and that is what we are going to look into.
One sure way that would pave the path of ordinary painters towards becoming pop art practitioners is to expose themselves to various products or art works that are defined by popular art. We have many ordinary painters who come across the products of popular art, and who go on to find such products attractive. Their natural response would be to try to duplicate them or come up with something similar or even better. And that leads to a situation where they have to learn popular art practices and methods. The lure of popular art would be so powerful that, at a certain point in time, they will no longer be interested with conventional art. When this happens, one could safely say that they have fully transformed into pop art practitioners.
The second way in which ordinary painters typically evolve into pop art practitioners is through exposure to the literature developed by members of this art movement. It is a sad fact that many of these literature are not really sought out initially by aspiring pop art practitioners. More often than not, they only happened to stumble on these literature. The literature in question tends to go to great lengths, in showing how popular art is better than conventional art which is depicted as, among other things, elitist. Aspiring pop art practitioners find themselves getting a push, or become more convinced, to practice this type of art form over conventional art after having read those literature.
Another way that would spur your evolution would be if you come into contact with pop art practitioners and spend a lot of time with them. if you compare pop art practitioners from other artists, you will see how different they are. They seem to have more zest for their art. Apparently, they also earn more from the practice of their art. They also seem to find their art more meaningful or with more depth. There is no doubt that these interactions would serve to convince these ordinary painters to try their hand at practicing popular art. As a result, we would see more and more conventional art practitioners making that shift to becoming practitioners of popular art.
