The Tomahawk Axe – What Are They and Why You Need One
The Tomahawk Axe What Are They and Why You Need One
A Tomahawk axe is exactly like a hatchet, except it does not have the curved shaft, it has a straight shaft like a regular axe, but is just as versatile to use. It's use actually originated with Native Americans and has been passed down through time with little or no change, all the way down to being a tactical tool for combat in the era of Vietnam, and even right up to the soldiers that use it today in Afghanistan. The uses of this tactical axe are many; it can be used for hand-to-hand combat. It can be used to simple tasks that would normally require some sort of tool force, and in a pinch, can be used to kill food. The tomahawk axe isn't a toy to be played with.
While the Vietnam era Tomahawks still exist, they are rare and expensive. In Vietnam, the tactical axe was a tool used for hand-to-hand combat with the enemy by the U.S Army Rangers. Since then, it's newer military brethren is still being used as a military tool by soldiers in Afghanistan. The use of the tomahawk axe in hand to hand combat has been passed down through American history and its use in Vietnam was not a first time for this tool. Whether thrown at someone else or buried in someone's back, head or chest, this weapon has obviously become a turning point for those who have used it. Besides the combat, it is used for many other things as well, such as lock removal, opening crates, free entry and other simple tasks. Besides that, it has many practical uses in the field.
With a tomahawk axe, it's simple to use it for many of the survival skills that you would normally need one for. Things such as chopping wood to build a shelter is simple with one of these, especially since the shaft of a tomahawk is straight much like a chopping axe, versus the curved handle of a hatchet. Also, making traps and killing food with it is just as simple, as this blade can be sharpened in the field more easily than a knife. As well as that, you can use it much like the soldiers do - using it to break open whatever needs to be opened and remove devices that might harm your team. This is a great thing for those soldiers in the field.
This tactical axe is steeped in history and for good reason. It's versatility and sturdiness has proven it to be a boon to anyone that owns one, and can be a weapon of epic proportions if given the right opportunity. If you need to eat, it can provide you with food if done correctly. Shelter or firewood is no problem and neither is protecting yourself from wild animals or camp invasion by the enemy. It can help you survive in the toughest situations and can be handy when you need to make camp as well - there's nothing that the Tomahawk axe can't do.
