both families and individuals who are looking for a fantastic break away from the city grind. Here is a list of the top five things to do whilst you are on holiday in Devon.

South Devon Railway

This fantastic seven mile stretch of old Great Western Railway track runs adjacent to the beautiful River Dart and take you all the way from Buckfastleigh to the edge of Dartmoor.

The South Devon Railway trains are pulled by old school locomotives, with the majority of them put together by the GWR during the early 1920s. There is so much to do on the South Devon Railway which makes this the ideal family activity.


Powderham Castle

If you are looking for another family adventure then why not pay a visit to Powderham Castle, you will find it difficult to explore the whole castle in one day, but never fear as you can return another day for FREE.

If you dont fancy exploring the castle by yourself, then you could always take one of the guided tours which takes you around the Castle through all the secret doors and across the haunted landing.

As well as inside the castle you can also explore the grounds surrounding the Castle. Kents Cavern

This location played host to Britains earliest humans, these prehistoric underground prehistoric caves are a fantastic place to come to on a hot summers day. Your guide will take you back over 400 million years to when the cavern was first created.

Dartmoor National Park

Take a casual stroll in and around Dartmoor National Park Dartmoor is renowned for its foul weather patterns. Most of the time, this is true, however if you want to see a different side to Dartmoor then walk up towards Teign Gorge or Lustleigh Cleave or Belstone Cleave.
