The Town Of Leon

The town of Leon is a famous place thanks to its rich culture and history

. Although it is an amazing and memorable city, Leon does not get a great number of tourists per year. The town is placed in the center of Spain in a region called Castilla y Leon. It borders with Zamora, Palencia, Asturias and Galicia.

The rich history of this place goes way back to the time of the Celtic tribes that first inhabited the area. The archaeologists have found over time a large number of remains from that period of time, clearly demonstrating that indeed the Celtic tribes are the ones that first settled in this area. Leon has kept many things from around that poque till the present time such as constructions, works of art and different objects. Many historical events from that period are still preserved and available for tourists, so the towns history and culture will continue to survive for many years to come.

The Templar Knights were perhaps the most memorable inhabitants of the town of Leon. The knights left lots of signs and marks of their passing through the area and their culture. Thanks to this fact, we can today visit a great number of historical buildings from that period of time such as castles and fortifications. These are some of the most visited and attractive places in the whole town.

Another great and relaxing place to visit in Leon is the fishing trout spots. It is widely known that in these parts you can find lots and lots of trout fish, so every year the town gets tourists who are interested in fishing from around the whole world, not just from Spain. The town offers a large number of such spots, spots where the visitors can enjoy some quality time fishing. Some consider this to be the perfect way to relax during their vacation in the city of Leon. The town is renowned for this in the whole region of Castilla, Leon and other regions.

Although the town offers a large variety of activities and places to visit for its visitors, it somehow manages to remain a remote and quiet location. It is a little peculiar why this town does not get more attention, but that is just the way it is currently. It is an amazing and attractive vacation spot for the tourists who enjoy peace and quiet and for the tourists who want to relax and recharge their batteries for the whole year.
