The Transformation Of Modern Men Neckties
Neckties changed after the French Revolution
Neckties changed after the French Revolution. French men still love to wear neckties; in fact, a necktie is considered an essential piece in a French man's wardrobe. Far away from the modern tie, the necktie appeared during that time. This method of tying is unique in that it is wrapped around the neck and the ends are left to hang at random. Three or four ribbon knots of ties can have at that time. It may look funny now but it was the rule of etiquette at that time. By the eighteenth century, the Revolution proclaimed the end of noble court life and also brought the blooming glory of neckties. The ties added a bit of flash to mens clothing which had under gone a transformation from flashy to simple and plain. Suddenly, men with a tie is everywhere in Paris, regardless of noble or normal people. Byron, a famous poet, was no exception to this trend of fashion and was well known for his harsh stance on the method of wearing ties. Balzac is a big fan of neckties and he brought the promotion to the whole of France in 1827. It is said that Balzac was the first one to describe the neckties in the form of literary works and it is indeed a great contribution for the necktie promotion.
Modern ties came of age during the 1800s, when Europeans wore many different neckties and tied them in many different ways. The sizes of the neckties are quite different and the classic patterns are the representative signs of their respective countries. People can't randomly pick any neckties which have a specific country logo. Interestingly, neckties were attributed special characteristics including diplomacy and loyalty. The neckties represented much more than just a decorative piece of clothing, and significed the wearer's personality, social standing, character, pastimes, and more. It is meaningful during the social networking as you can have a basic understanding of the wearer through the neckties. Prior to today, this regulation was not a major deviation from the status-quo.
An important figure in the history of the necktie is the Duke of Windsor; born in the nineteenth century, he was Prince of Wales and King Edward VIII before he became Duke of Windsor. He had great contribution to the world from his fashion taste, besides his romantic love story. His fan base is immense still because of his fantastic taste. Duke of Windsor until his death in 1972 was far ahead of forward-looking fashion at present times. One of the most famous is the Windsor knot of neckties which was the preferred style for the wide ties. It was sensational for that invention all over the world; even the arrogant Hitler made compliments on that. Now the Windsor knot is considered appropriate for both formal wear and business, however, it began as a knot preferred by the artistic section. Even it was said that it can't be a real artist if not tying a Windsor knot. In the nineteenth century, ties have been transformed into a symbol of the personal information into society development. It has given more objective meanings and social interests. All factors are favorable era for bright ties of the nineteenth century to the early twentieth century.
