Underwear is a much overlooked garment in daily attire
. For men especially, there are few choices in styles. And let's face it, men are not traditionally the most savvy of shoppers, spending as little time as possible buying clothes, the shopping mantra is often hit & run'.This mentality is increased when it comes to the most intimate of clothing you can have. Your pants, briefs, smalls, boxer shorts, unspeakables or whatever you call them are a personal purchase that says as much about you as a person as does your choice of footwear. In fact in a survey conducted, it emerged that 70% of men think that underwear is an extension of their personality. And 80% said the right underwear can make them feel more confident. So it's actually quite an important purchase!
There are really only three choices for fellas in the underwear stakes (ignoring the minority of chaps who opt for thongs) briefs, loose boxers or tight boxers.
For a while now those who chose the golden oldie of men's underwear briefs' have been subject to scrutiny and ridicule. Briefs are all about functionality and comfort as opposed to style and sex appeal. But guys like things to be as fuss-free as possible which is why briefs instantly conjure up two images; little boys and older dads. Neither is going to have the sort of confidence-boosting power or visual appeal you might want.
Classic boxer shorts are universal. They are safe and can be jazzed up with colourful prints or humorous' slogans. These make great stocking fillers ladies are you listening! Apparently men only buy their own pants for 17 years of their lives. First it is bought for them by their Mothers and then the role is assumed by a partner.
The best choice is a tight jersey boxer for its close, comfortable and supportive fit, done so well by the giants of men's underwear such as Calvin Klein and Armani. Due to their strong ad campaigns in the 1990's with black and white high fashion photography and models we all wanted to either be or be with, these indelible images have imprinted into our psyche so much so that if in doubt, most men will reach for a pair of Calvins for a special occasion. They combine fashion with function as well as having that essential brand credibility to back them up.
An underwear company has even created the pants men never knew they needed well left handed ones anyway. Their left handed undercrackers promise to save the left handed man up to three vital seconds when visiting the loo. George Bush you're in luck!
