The Truth about Different Carpet Cleaning Methods
The Truth about Different Carpet Cleaning Methods
Over the years, homeowners and office owners would upgrade their home or office by installing cabinets or invest in appliances or office machines. One of the best investments would be putting in a carpet to make the place warm and cozy. There are so many different types of carpet to choose from and if you are one of those people who recently installed a carpet in your home or office, you need to think about carpet cleaning.
Different types of carpet require different carpet cleaning methods. This is obviously common when you decide to hire cleaning services in Sydney to clean and maintain your carpet at home or at your office. Professional cleaners would discourage you to scrub your carpet without using the proper method or the proper cleaning solutions. This is simply because you may be doing more harm to your investment than what you think. Some people would think these cleaning service people are just out to get your business but there are some truths one needs to be aware of when it comes to common carpet cleaning methods.
Shampoo and Foam Method
This is the most common and oldest method in cleaning carpets. It uses a carpet cleaning shampoo that is applied on the surface of the carpet. The foam it forms plus the chemicals in it presumably attract the dirt in the carpet. Eventually, the foam will dry up while the solution becomes brittle and separate itself from the fabric. This will then be vacuumed and the carpet is clean once more.
Foam method is similar to the shampoo method since the foam solution is applied to the carpet and left to dry for an hour or so. This is particularly a good way to clean old carpets as it is so gentle without the risk of destroying the material. The downside to this, however, is that it cannot take out stubborn stains.
Steam Cleaning Method
It is also called the hot-water extraction method. It is considered to be the most efficient in taking out dirt, stains and dust. It is actually a misleading name as it does not use steam but hot water instead. With a temperature of 150-200 degrees Fahrenheit, the hot water mixed with a cleaning solution is sprayed on the carpet. The high pressure used easily loosens dirt and is being sucked by the vacuum cleaner. Hot water is considered very effective in killing bacteria, mites and fungus that make the carpet squeaky clean after cleaning.
This method is common not only in household but used by professionals in office cleaning in Sydney. Most of the time they have the knowledge what types of carpets you have and what temperature is required. Other people who do not want to hire a cleaning service would opt to rent a steam cleaning machine unit.
Buffer Method
Considered to be the newest method in cleaning carpets, this is used not only by professional cleaners but homeowners too. It is gentle on old carpets but at the same time, effective and strong enough to take out stains. It needs a certain carpet cleaner to apply on the surface and let it soak the whole material. After it dries up, you only have to vacuum to take out all the dirt.
With this information, you can be sure your carpet can still give you the comfort and warmth knowing it is well cleaned.
