The Twitterbug

I used to not be so twitter savvy. I didn't like it. I thought it was pointless and dumb and stupid. I thought all of these things- about a year ago. But something changed. Now I can't be separated from it. Why? The power of social media influencers has caught my attention. The influencer formula is undeniable. I've been blasting away tweet after tweet trying to build my brand. I've also been closely tracking the current top trends in my market that are presently impacting my field as well as identifying and evaluating the top influencers in various other sectors. I often chat with my friends about Twitter and it's importance in the line of work I do. You just can't kid around with Twitter. It's importance is undeniable fact.

Twitter is a real time information network. If leveraged properly it provides an extremely effective engagement tool for interacting with customers and influencers to promote your brand and establish relationships. The process of reaching that goal seems simple enough but rarely does anyone properly execute it. You need to have a strategy. A game plan when evaluating who to connect with and how to do it. But twitter is just one part, a major part, but singular nonetheless amongst a plurality of parts to a greater whole. You need steps. Write out your objectives. Stay focused and pick one. Work on it and then move onto another. Invite gregarious users onto your site. Doesn't matter who they are as long as they have a passion for communication. Set a weekly goal of tweets and RTs and posts and etc. Research what will attract the viewers. Use tools like tweetdeck to make it easier. Most of all, and I know it's cheesy but just bear with me, most of all have fun. No one will follow you if you are a droll hum-drum person.

Twitter is a powerful tool if leveraged properly. So yes. In answer to the question. Yes. Catch the twitterbug and have some fun.
