The War between Female and TobaccoIt is said that, every year, more than 5 million people die of disease resulted from the using of tobacco; about 1.5 million of them is women at the age of more than 20 years old. If there are no emergency measures to be taken, there will be 8 million people die of smoke by 2030 in the world, including 2.5 million women. The world health organization indicates that near half number of the smoker will die at an early age. But the tobacco industry need continue to attract new smoker to replace, and the rate of the male smoker has got to the top. Therefore, the female become the target of the tobacco industry.
In the early of the western history, the number of male smoker began to increase before the female, and, 20 years later, the illnesses resulted from smoking takes a high rate among the mail smokers. Then the number of female smoker will increase in at a high speed.
There are more than 1.1 billion smokers in the world, including 0.2 billion female. And 22% female smokers come from developed country, which is higher than the 9% in the developing country. Although the number of the female smokers is smaller than the male, it still keep rising at a high rate every year. The world health organization estimates the rate of the female smoker will up to 20% by 2025 from 12% in 2005.
All of the statuses are terrible, but the tobacco manufactures never stop their steps to attract more female smokers. They tried to leave no stone unturned to attract new female smokers, such us produced low nicotine contain, different taste, new outlook cigarettes. Besides, they use some Internet advertising, banners misleading women to fall into smoking.
Women's health is in the dangerous, we must take some measures to change this situation.
Tell the truth. Firstly, we the female should notice the harm from smoking and passive smoking. Secondly, they should notice that smoking is not only bad for their health, also for others. Thirdly, they need know about why it is harm for the health, such as it is harm for their skin and accelerate the speed of aging, which I think is the best method because the women always care about their beauties. Besides, they need know about the promotion strategies used by the tobacco manufacturers, so that they will find better ways to resist the temptation from them.
Sit up laws. They powerful weapon is the laws. International smoking control experience shows that the law is the most important measures to protect people from passive smoking. Sitting up the law is aim to protect the people from smoke in the public place and office, while both the children and female are the victims.
Strengthen promotion. The government should take more measures to strengthen the promotion to make more people notice the harm from smoke. For example, we can print some pictures on the cover of the cigarette, showing the harm of smoking for the female.
Forbid cigarette advertisement. The manufactures always hire the super stars as their prolocutor for products. And they persuade people into smoking through supporting some activities and promotion. The government should take some measures to forbid these rubbish ads.
Advise methods to quit smoking. We should protect the non-smoker from smoking; at the same we should find some ways to help the smoker quit it. The related organization can explore some sugar, medicine or some other products, such us smoking bars, Electronic Cigarette to help them. Besides, the psychologists can research and develop some ways to restrain smoking, or study some sports which is helpful to quit smoking.
The female's life are engulfing by tobaccos, we should find ways to minimize the damage together and fight with the things which is harmful with our health.
