It's a subject much talked about everywhere a few women are together. It's become an obsession with every woman, overwhelming all other needs, and, of course, has become the parameter of social acceptance in their mindset. And it's all to do with the perfect body. At a social do, one barely eats, though the temptation may be huge, consuming only a few morsels of food.

But, it's strange that people opt for habits like starvation diets and torturous physical workouts to gain that complete figure. The goal of wanting to look good overnight actually makes us bypass a very important issue that these ways are harmful. A starvation diet keeps you away from a lot of vital nutrients required by your body to build its defence mechanism and for its immune systems to work properly. We do not realise that till one fine day, the knees or the joints become jammed. So even if you achieve the perfect size, rounds to the doctor too start becoming more frequent.

Also, following a strict diet for a little months is not going to solve anything. We must realise that food is to be enjoyed, and the only extra effort we should make in our eating habits is to enforce discipline. Many times, we go on a diet because we have binged, and then we end up staying on that diet forever. That is a very sad way of living. For one thing, one cannot enjoy food and never will, as the fear that eating that little bit extra may just make one gain extra bulge. Because of this psychosis, avoiding food becomes a better option, and being on a diet becomes a normal way of life.

Should we not change this paradigm?

Eating is a very common thing. But the way one eats food is where the art of having a healthy body lies. To go back to living a healthy life, one first needs to work on the mindset. There are two issues that are important here. These are discipline and love for your body. If you love your body, you will automatically eat what is good for you. That's why I say that the first step to losing weight healthily is to love your body. When you actually love your body, you will eat healthily and just enough, without overindulging. It is an automatic reaction.

Further, one can eat more healthily by consuming foods that are clearly digestible. Yet again, there is an valuable rule here that a lot of us do not pay attention to. It is the blood at the end of the day that helps with the digestion method and the absorption of food, so why not start with eating foods that match your blood group category, which will can then be easily digested and will save the body from restoring the extra undigested foods? But again, don't start go to extremes here. Eat everything, but don't go overboard.

And at last, some words regarding workouts. Exercise is significant, but not to the point where it becomes torturous. There is something that is very vital to understand it is that one needs to work out or follow a regime that gets the blood flowing from head to toe. If that is acquired in even 20 minutes, it is sufficient. Just remember, by keeping the blood flowing and the heart healthy and pumping properly, and combining this with disciplined eating, one can relish all kinds of foods and yet sustain a perfect body.
