The World Of Rugby

When we talk about rugby, we are referring to a popular sports game that has been played from all over the world

. From here, two types of rugby were being identified namely rugby league and rugby union. In the United Kingdom and all throughout Europe, rugby union is the one being played while the rugby league is usually in the New Zealand and Australia.

They are same rugby game but the rules, regulations and policies of the rugby union and league are different from one another. The rugby union is being played by two teams consisting of 15 players where 8 fill up the position of forwards that usually get the possession of the ball. Seven of these players are the backs that act as the ball carrier and are required to move the ball around.

The game starts with one team as defensive while the other team offensive just like any team games played. The defensive team can either kick the rugby ball or release or pass the ball to a teammate when tackled but the ball should not be passed forward. If violations were committed, the game clock and the game will temporarily stop such as in cases where two opponents were grabbing the ball or if the ball goes out of bounds.

Participating within the rugby league club requires you to have adept knowledge on the difference between union and league and play according to the rules. The team will only score once a goal or try has been made. The goal means that a player has to kick the ball into the goal post and the try refers to the touch down or touching the ball to the goal area.

The differences between the union and league, which if you played in the youth rugby league you will know, are the number of players. Rugby league teams only consist of 13 players with 6 forwards and 7 backs. In the rugby league, the ball remains in play even after a tackle wherein a player kicks the ball backward to a teammate. There will be 6 tackles of the ball before surrendering the ball possession.

Participating in rugby league club is an exciting experience. The game has existed for many centuries and will continue to evolve as a popular game among the athletes.
