There's been a disturbing trend concerning sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and teenagers

. The trend on STD situations among young people aged from 10-15 years old has been surging, particularly on Genital Warts and Gonorrhea.

In most countries, the typical age of individuals infected with STDs is about 16-18 years old. Looking at the society we are living on today, it is quite obvious how we are glorifying sex. It comes with no surprise that lots of the younger generation are infected with these illnesses. STDs mainly multiply through unprotected sex, and the vast number of youngsters that do not use any protection certainly do not help to the cause of preventing the spread.

This development may be unfortunate, yet we must be aware of this. The cases of sexually transmitted infection on people aged 10 to 15 have significantly accelerated from 249 to 318 between the year 2004 and 2008. This is quite a huge rise from the age group.

So, what can we do to manage these developments? First of all, every youth should be subjected to a much improved and in depth awareness on sexually transmitted diseases.
