The body adapts to what it is used to burning

The body adapts to what it is used to burning

Most people believe they will get into shape if they only walk or run a few miles a day and stick to a high carb, low fat diet. The idea is that the carbs will provide the body energy to build muscle while the low fat avoids heart issues. Well the scary thing is that when the research is done we find overwhelming proof that cholesterol is much less of a concern in high fat/low carb diets as they are in a standard low fat diet which relies on heavy workouts.

Those might seem to be radical claims considering the scientific studies that have been backed so intensely by the medical community regarding fat and coronary heart disease. Don't forget that it was also the consensus in the early 90s that margarin was safer for the heart than butter. Then they figured out that trans-fats were the real danger, so maybe the consensus isn't always accurate.

The little known fact is, the body burns what it is accustomed to having too much of. This is a basis of a lot of my research over the years. If the body is typically consuming carbs it will mainly focus on burning excess carbohydrates and if it is fat, it will mainly put emphasis on fats.In other words, fat is an energy source much like carbohydrates are but your risk of many metabolic issues are not associated as heavily. These issues are diabetes and now research is comming out suggesting high blood pressure and even cholesterol, fancy that!

If a person stores glycogen in liver and the muscle they are at the same time storing glucose as fat in fat cells faster than glycogen re-synthesizes shuts down fat release. Many exercise enthusiasts attempt to eat foods post-workout which they hope will restore glycogen. The number of products that are out there for this cause are exponential. Unfortunately in the long term this compromises performance levels. Although this isn't a well known bit of research, read my book ultimate diet secrets and you'll understand a bit better.
