Grammy-winning country legendary star Lee Ann Womack will meet up with another country

star Mark Chesnutt for a one-time only concert event Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Ill. There is no doubt that Womack is best known for her chart-topping single "I Hope You Dance," is a Texas-born singer and songwriter who followed a life as a performing artist from a very young age. Her career in Nashville started in the mid-90s, in that time she has recorded seven albums, her most latest being Call Me Crazy in 2008. The Country legendary star Lee Ann Womack received the Country Music Association's Female Vocalist award in 2001. Classic country performers influenced Womack in her early years, artists such as Tammy Wynette, George Jones, Bob Wils, Ray Price and Glen Campbell. She considers her road act real, authentic country. Womack spoke with Windy City Times about the forthcoming performance, the approach she takes to performing in markets like Chicago that aren't predominantly country and she also shared her views about singer/songwriter Chely Wright coming out last May as the first lesbian country star. On Sept 20 The Country legendary star Lee Ann Womack will host the 4th annual ACM Honors ceremony for special honorees and off-camera award winners at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Keith Urban will be honored with the Jim Reeves International Award, while Marty Robbins, Mel Tillis, talent agent Rod Essig and songwriters Don Schlitz and Cindy Walker will also be familiar for their career accomplishments. In addition, the film Crazy Heart will be honored with the Tex Ritter Award for country music-related films. Winners in the musician, bandleader, instrumental and industry will be recognized as well. The remaining ACM Awards were presented in April in Las Vegas. The evening is planned to recognize the winners of the categories that were not telecast during the Academy of Country Music Awards' live broadcast on CBS in April as well as other honorees. The great Country singer Lee Ann Womack, whose signature song "I Hope You Dance" not only made the No.1 slot on the Billboard Country Chart but also crossed over to reach the Top 15 of the Billboard Hot 100, will be performing tonight at the Downstream Casino Resort near Joplin, Mo. One of the precious few country musicians skilled at blending old-school talent with modern style, Jacksonville native Lee Ann Womack has carved out a career filled with critical and industry acclaim. The two-time Grammy winner has also enjoyed a string of big hits, most remarkably I Hope You Dance, while never losing sight of the precious balance between honoring the past and staying rooted in the present. Her unfairly slept-on 2008 record, Call Me Crazy, conjures visions of Tammy Wynette (particularly its compelling single Last Call) in an era of blow-dried blondes posing on CMT.
