The Bayfest's well known stage underwent a huge makeover to accommodate Canadian music legends Rush and the biggest stage show ever at Sarnia's summer music festival. "What they have is really built for an arena not a stage like ours," said Bayfest's Michele Stokley. "They don't do a lot of festivals like this, but they wanted to do the full show and we wanted to give everyone else the full show." The amazing Canadian rock legends Rush, in addition to promoting a new album and being the focus of a documentary chronicling their lengthy career and they were honored Friday with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The band is the centre of Rush, Beyond the Lighted Stage is a documentary which explores the band, its 40-plus-year evolution and its influence on various top artists including Corgan. The documentary from directors Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen premiered in April. The latest album of the Rush Working Men was released in November. The rocking band Rush has played on what had to be one of the most wonderful nights one could hope for a show at Starlight. The performance was worthy of the weather and vice versa, really. Geddy Lee and company managed to do that rare thing at Starlight last night get an audience jazzed about latest things. The band has an album "way, way forthcoming" next year and it played two songs off it. The first early in the night was called "Brought Up to Believe" and was heavy as all hell, with a video projected on the massive screen behind them as they played that looked like the opening credits to Seven. The wide documentary on the significant Canadian rock legends is hitting Blu-ray next week. Rush along with Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart have built a universal fan base more than forty-year career and is currently ranked third in consecutive gold or platinum albums after The Beatles and the Rolling Stones. RUSH Beyond the Lighted Stage starts with their progressive hard rock days of the '70s through their rock sounds of the early '80s, the keyboard influenced mid- to late-80s and when they decided in the '90s to return to their original sound. For almost four decades the members of Rush have remained true to themselves and sincere to their music, Halper said in her introductory remarks. "They have never allowed success to spoil them. They have never lost their integrity. And in a world where it often seems the good guys never win, Rush are living proof that sometimes, good people do finish first." Get your Cheap Rush Tickets
