Themed Meals For Your Next Home Movie & Dinner Date

Everyone loves the classic dinner and a movie date

, and it can be even better in the comfort of your own home. Snuggle up on the couch and bust out these fun meals to go along with their movies.

Meatloaf and Silence of the Lambs

Turn a squeamish scene fun or more squeamish by cooking your mothers favorite recipe for meatloaf before the movie. When the meatloaf is done cooking carve it up to look like a human brain and drizzle the catsup in the grooves. Keep it warm in the oven while the movie plays, and as the infamous scene grows near go get your chill inducing meal. Cover it up so you can flourish it up at the same time as Anthony Hopkins takes off his silver tray. If the look of the meatloaf is not spot on, do not worry, the smell association with the movie should be a good enough effect.

Spaghetti and The Italian Job

If Hollywood is brash enough to make a movie titled The Italian Job, base it in Hollywood, and make the only Italian reference the new mini-coopers then you should be brash enough to make your favorite Italian dish in an extremely American way and call it Italian. Throw some brown sugar into that Ragu sauce to sweeten it up, thats how its supposed to be, right?

The Bucket List and Anything Youve Ever Wanted to Try

This is a freebie, but the only rule is is that it has to be completely new. Never had sushi before? Go for it. A bottle of wine that cost more than $10? Why dont you go ahead and splurge. If you have an adventurous appetite already then this could be a tough one for you and you might need to get creative. Maybe a French-toast and smoked salmon sandwich is more your style, or chocolate covered ants and grasshoppers. Whatever it is, make it fun and new.

Castaway and Grilled or Raw Food

Tom Hanks and Wilson did not have a microwave, oven, or can opener to use when trying to prepare their food, and neither should you if you are watching Castaway. Try making a meal with only fresh produce and meats (added points of you go catch something yourself, how fast can a squirrel be anyway?). If you can, build a fire and try to cook with that, or if you have to use a grill, but no tinfoil allowed! When you sit down to eat, only eat with your hands and do not use any silverware. Also, make sure you have some ice-skates to use instead of toothpicks.

Try to come up with your own meals to match the movie. Romeo & Juliet and any clich romantic food. Hearty stew for outdoor survivalist flicks (or nothing but your own by products if you are really serious). Its a fun date idea or a movie

night for friends and will make the film that much more enjoyable.
