Of the two types of extramarital affairs the emotional affair is generally considered to be the most dangerous to you marriage
. An emotional affair does not seem so dangerous on the surface though. But in reality the emotional affair goes much deeper than a purely physical affair.
Two people just exchanging personal information. Of course the real problem is if they develop an emotional attachment and decide to take it to the next level and begin a physical affair.
Now they have emotionally bonded and have added in the physical element. Two people that are involved with both the emotional and the physical attachment could be on their way to falling in love with each other. If this happens and the two want to be together then they will start working on ways to get out of their current marriage.
Earlier I said there are two types of extramarital affairs. What if someone has just purely a physical affair. Two people get together, do their thing and leave. Is it possible they can go from the physical affair to having an emotional affair. It's backwards but I can see in a long time physical affair the two partners becoming emotionally involved.
Then you have the same problem that I spoke about earlier. Two people in love who want to be together.
It seems to me the two types of extramarital affairs are about equal. One is just as dangerous as the other. The experts tell us different though. They generally agree that the emotional affair is the most dangerous to a marriage.
