Anaglypta

Anaglypta wallpaper is is a relief decoration wallpaper. It was produced firstly as Lincrusta which was also an embossed wallpaper which was patented by Frederick Walton in 1877.

Anaglypta wallpaper was produced as result that a more flexible paper was need. So one of the companies employees Thomas Palmer came up with the product Anaglypta which was made from paper pulp and cotton rather than Lincrusta which used linseed oil and wood flour.

It is ideal for high traffic area such as corridors and foyers and is widely used in hotels, restaurants and public areas.

Embossed

Embossed wallpaper is similar to Anaglypta but has a coloured pattern on it and gives it a very decorative finish rather than the plain paper finish. Embossed wallpaper can be painted. The advantage of Embossed wallpaper is that it can be painted either straight away or at a later date.

Blown Vinyl

Blown Vinyl wallpaper is similar to embossed wallpaper except that it has a plastic coated surface. It is made by applying liquid PVC to flat wallpaper and when it is heated, the blowing agent in the PVC expands to create the blown vinyl wallpaper.

Blown vinyl is ideal for covering walls that are cracked or have bumps or damaged old paper. It can be painted but is better having a primer beneath any paint applied to the surface.

Flock

Flock wall paper has been around longer than virtually all other types of wall paper. Its raised pattern is made of fibres which gives it a velvety fee. Most people first became aware of this type of wallpaper in pubs and restaurants. It has dropped off in its popularity in modern times as it absorbed the smells and stains are not easily removed and when it became popular in the domestic market it was being damaged more by people pressing down the fibres.

To make Flock wallpaper small fibres of coloured material are applied to the wallpaper surface that has been glued. Flock wallpaper comes with a coloured pattern and is not made to be painted.
