These Clep Exam Tips Will Help You Ace Your Calculus

If you want to avoid taking that first year of boring Math 101 in college

, then there's no other way around it - you need to ace your CLEP exam.

After all, you've already proved that you know your stuff in your AP Calculus class. And that's exactly why you want to take this test. Instead of wasting your time in Math 101, you want to start exploring advanced mathematics classes without college prerequisites standing in your way.

But there IS one thing standing in your way. And unless you know how to beat this obstacle, you can pretty much guarantee that you'll spend the first semester of college bored to tears. That obstacle, my friends, is the CLEP test.

Whether you've been devoting your entire schedule to it or you simply believe that you don't have to study, your test will play a critical role in setting the tone for the next four years. And no matter how talented you are at calculus, that doesn't guarantee you'll pass this notoriously tough exam.

Only understanding the four CLEP exam procedures will!

If You're Taking the CLEP Exam, 4 is About to Become Your Favorite Number!

When it comes to taking the test, there's just one thing you need to understand: the more you understand what it wants from you, the more likely it is that you'll succeed.

And that's why all the calculus study in the world won't help you unless you know the four allowed calculator procedures on the calculus CLEP exam.

It goes without saying that if you stray from any of these four procedures, then your exam score will be immediately canceled. So if you don't want to sit through a boring introductory class, then you better get familiar with these four procedures!

*Get familiar with this CLEP exam instruction: "Produce the graph of a function within an arbitrary viewing window." Here's the translation in English: you must be able to create a graph in the window specified, and then copy it onto your exam. Here's an extra hint: if no window is mentioned in the question, then make sure you mention what window dimensions you've used.

*If you see "solve an equation numerically", that means you need to use your calculator to find the zeros of a function. Don't forget to show your setup!

*If you're asked to seek the value of a derivative of a function, the CLEP exam makers will allow you to use your calculator.

*If a question asks you to "compute definite integrals numerically", this means that you only need to show your setup and the calculator answer. Thankfully, there's no need to find an antiderivative.

Now that you know what you can use your calculator for, you can be sure that you won't have to take another intro math class again!
