, then here are some tips about the things you and your friends could do to make the most of your student life. Islington is considered by some to be one of London's most dynamic areas, with excellent pubs, music venues, stylish shops and restaurants on its doorstep.

Whether you choose to live in private rented accommodation, in university halls of residence, or opt to stay in private halls of residence, you'll want to get out and about and there are so many things for students to do in Islington.

Shopping

There are the well-known supermarkets and banks as well as high-street shops and street markets. To the south of Islington is Clerkenwell, while to the west is Shoreditch; both areas have lots of small boutiques and designer stores.

London has always been famous for its music scene and many local venues, such as the O2 Academy, Highbury Garage and Buffalo Bar, provide cheap entry for students on most nights. If you prefer a trip to the theatre, London's famous West End plays host to a variety of shows. Discounted tickets for students can often be obtained from students' unions.

Culture

Tate Modern is Britain's national museum of modern art, whilst Sadler's Wells and the Almeida are major centres for the arts. Movie-goers can head to Islington's 'Screen on the Green' which is one of London's finest art-house cinemas, showing classic and alternative cinema. Just south of City University is the Barbican where new releases and world cinema is shown.

Overall, Islington is a great area to live if you are a student.
