Chemicals are common problems for asthmatic people. Bleach and other harsh chemical cleaning products emit fumes into the air. Using green or all-natural cleaning supplies may help diffuse the problem. It is also possible to use face mask while cleaning to avoid inhaling the chemicals found in the products.

Stress

Stress is a number one cause of many health conditions, including asthma. It can increase the heart and respiratory rates of those who experience it. Although it may not be possible to avoid all stressful situations, it is ideal to learn calming techniques. Calming techniques can alleviate stress by relaxing the mind and slowing down fast breathing. Take slow, deep breaths to minimize attacks.

Exercise

Exercising too fast or long may cause the airways to narrow. It may be a good idea to speak with a physician prior to exercising. Doctors can help their patients design exercise plans that will not aggravate their asthma.

Illness

Try to stay as healthy as possible. People may prevent illness by staying hydrated all year round. Hydration helps the body fight the germs that cause cold and flu viruses. Drinking eight to 10 glasses of water each day can also keep the airways and nasal passages moist.
