Seoul is the capital of South Korea. Korea is located in east Asia. Seoul is one of the biggest cities in Asia and the whole world. Seoul city and the surrounding area has a population of over 20 million people. THere are so many people which makes it so easy to find things to do in Seoul.

After you have arrived and settled in, it's time to get up, head out and start checking out Seoul to see what it has to offer. If this is your first time visiting Seoul you will have hundreds of things to do. What you do depends on your preference. Seoul is most know for a few things such as it's drinking / eating culture, cheap shopping districts, museums and history.

If you came to Seoul to drink and eat you are in for a treat. You can find bars and resturants on every street corner in Seoul. They could be permanent locations or the temporary street stands and tents. Either way you are going to have a great time. The main food in Korea is Korean BBQ. You choose your own meat and vegetables and cook it on small grill on your table. As you do the cooking yourself the meal is quite cheap. For reasonably priced resturants head to Hongdae or Sinchon (the student area). If you have a craving for western food head over to Itaewon, the main foreigner hangout in Seoul.

Drinking is also cheap in Seoul. Koreans drink a lot of Soju which is a rice based drink kind of like vodka. It is ridiculously cheap in supermarkets at aroiund 1 dollar a bottle and about 3 dollars a bottle in bar or resturants. Soju has an alcohol content of around 15 % so you can have a great night for a few dollars. If you are into nightclubs there are 2 areas for you to head. The first is Hongdae. Hongdae is the main nightclub area where Koreans and Foreigners go at the weekends. Hongdae is located beside a few universities so you get great prices in the area. The second area for clubs is Gangnam. Gangnam is the upper class area in Seoul and the clubs are a priced accordingly. You must dress up for the clubs but it is worth it. They have a great performances and a great atmosphere.

If you came to Seoul to shop then you should head over to Dongdaemun. Dongdaemun is the main market for clothing in Korea. A lot of the clothing is made here or imported to here for sale to individuals or retail. The most exciting time to visit is at night. The markets are open 24 hours a day all year round and many shops visit here at night for the latest fashions for their stores. It really is alive at night will people running around buying clothes and bidding for great prices. There are also a lot of vendors selling all different types of delicious foods.
