more than 90% of Affiliate Marketers will actually make less than one hundred dollars per month. In other words, when you start working as an Affiliate, don"t count on making money that will allow you to quit your day job. Before you will begin to see profits that will give you anything close to full time income, you will need to practice and almost become an expert in a few important things. They are:

1.Building a nice website that actually converts visitors to customers. That may sound like an easy task but it is actually one of the most difficult things to learn. Studies have shown that many people will leave a website within seconds of seeing a website if it is not visually pleasing to them.

2.SEO or Search Engine Optimization is a term used to describe a series of things you need to do to your website that will help the search engines recognize it and send traffic to it. Since traffic to your website is vitally important to the success of your business you will need to get as much traffic as possible. Among others, SEO is one of the best ways to get high traffic without having to spend money to get it.

3. Picking merchants or products and learning the correct ways to promote them. This is a trial and error process that may take some time to learn. One thing should be made clear, you will fail while learning how to do this. The up side is that with failure comes knowledge which will help you later with your next promotion. Warning: Don"t repeat things that have failed, repeat things that have worked!


Despite popular belief, Affiliate Marketing is not some kind of get rich quick program you just pick up and make money. Many people read about Affiliate Marketing and decide they will give it a try and place a couple of ads or banners somewhere. Then they can"t understand why they are not making any money. Others try for years but can never find a way to make more than a few dollars.

But even if you are able to generate a lot of traffic to your website, you still may not be able to generate a lot of sales. In fact, you may see that 1 out of 200 or more visitors to your website will actually buy your product.

The key to success will be learning how to figure out who your customers will be and knowing what their needs are. When you have that knowledge, you will be able to determine which Affiliate programs you can offer them to meet their needs. Helpful Hint: Use of pre-sale concept will help you get your visitors in an open mind set that is required for them to actually click on your product.

If you do decide to go for it, the most difficult time will be the first few months. You will be constantly checking your stats to see if you made any sales and how many people actually visited your website. Then you will be wondering if all of the hard work was worth it. In the long run, it will be worth it if you stay committed, continue to work hard and learn from your mistakes. Before you know it, your commissions should start growing and you"ll be on your way to becoming your own boss in the exciting world of Affiliate Marketing.
