When cleaning a chandelier, there are certain things that you have to be aware of before you proceed to cleaning. These things are imperative in making sure that you do not only clean it properly but you'll clean it safely as well to prevent accidents which can be dangerous to you and your precious chandelier as well.
First thing to remember before cleaning your chandelier is to turn the switch off. Never ever clean your chandelier while it is turned on most especially if you are going to use some water or glass cleaner or any sort of liquid. If you recently used your chandelier, you need it give it some time to let the bulbs cool down before you start going up there and disassemble it.
Next thing that you have to make sure before your proceed cleaning is to ensure that there is enough light in the area. Remember, you are going to clean and would probably disassemble and then assemble your chandelier and you are not going to be using its light while doing it. It is better to set up another set of lights when you remove your chandelier most especially if the room is dim or if you are going to clean it at night.
Another thing is to make sure that you have the diagram of the chandelier before you disassemble it. If you lost the diagram that comes with it, you should make your own one to ensure that you are placing the right parts at the right places.
And the last but not the least is to prepare all the necessary cleaning materials that you are going to use before cleaning such as ladder, feather duster, vacuum attachment, cleaning solution and microfiber clothes.
