Things You Must Do Manually When Going On A Vacation

With summer practically here, now is the time to prepare for your holidays

o Check the tires and fluids and a good rule of thumb for tires is to place a coin upright in between the threads. If the coin remains upright, then tire threads are still good. If not, then replace the tires already. You may want to even want to wheel balance and aligned the tires.

o For fluids, please check if the motor oil needs replacement and the transmission and brake fluids need to be replenished. The ideal thing to change your motor oil is every 5000 kilometers on the odometer. If close to 5000 kilometers and you plan to go on a long road trip, then have the motor oil replaced right away. Add more brake fluid and transmission fluid if they need to be added. You can do that by checking their levels by opening the front hood of the vehicle.

- Some of the other important things may be done on the road or when you feel needed. For example, there may be times that you would need to fill the air condition compressor with HCFC gas, which is the replacement for Freon gas. You can do this in a car air con repair shop in most places. Even when vacationing, there are air con repair shops that can easily fill up your compressor with the said gas. The only way you will know is to feel if the vehicle's air conditioner is blowing cool air.

Going on a road trip, it is essential that you are ready because you don't know what might happen or might come up while you're on the road.
