Los Angeles is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the USA. The city's central role in the world of entertainment is without a doubt a huge source of fascination for the majority of visitors. However, there are a few sights that every visitor to the area should see.

For a start, the iconic beaches littered across the coast are a must-see, and a great way to get accustomed to the city. Whether it's relaxing in the sunshine or enjoying beach activities, there is something for everyone to do. The beach towns towards the south of the city are probably where most of the best beaches are located. Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach are recommended places to visit for idyllic views and relaxing spots. The state of California in general is renowned for its surf spots, and remains a haven for surf enthusiasts. Beaches like El Porto and Santa Monica are perfect for both beginners and pros, so make the most of some of the surfing world's best spots.

Any trip to LA should also include a visit to Venice beach. Though it is normally inundated with tourists, there still remains a host of interesting things to see. The boardwalk is still a great place to see street performance, with everything from musicians, mimes and artists carrying out their trade as you walk by. Any visit to Venice Beach would not be complete without a look at the body builders working out on what is fondly referred to as muscle beach'. This famous patch is where some of the greatest body builders of all time have worked out, including movie star and former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger.

You will be hard pressed to avoid Hollywood boulevard, a great place to learn and experience the city's deep relationship with celebrity and entertainment. Whether you're star spotting on the "walk of fame" or shopping on the busy boulevard you will definitely be drawn to one of the most famous parts of LA.

If you fancy some cultural excursions however, Los Angeles has a surprising amount to offer. Though its artistic heritage is not as rich as many of its American counterparts, there remain a few galleries with very impressive collections. The Getty center is a great place to visit with a whole range of artwork from Renaissance-era work to modern art.

That being said, if you are looking for a holiday full of sun, glitz and glamour then you can't go wrong if you book flights to Los Angeles . It might not be for everyone, but anyone who wants a taste of the Californian lifestyle will love it.
