Think Point Virus Blocks My Internet, MBAM Malware Bytes & Antivirus Programs. Disables Task Manager I See No Icons on Desktop When your PC is infected with dreaded thinkpoint virus...your computer will behave strangely...When you start your PC, you may not see any icons on Desktop, task manager disabled, antivirus programs MBAM or Malware Bytes, McAfee and Norton are blocked, you may not be able to connect to internet. Because of the extent of changes this Think Point virus does. It alters files, folders,permissions and registry keys.For instance..Windows 7 hasa total of 54,380 system files and 431,883 associated registry keys. Eventhough there are many instructions out there to change the affected keys, files and folders manually...you may not get your PC back to normal with manual deletion..there may be still some traces of virus hiding from your antivirus program like a rootkit TDSS infection which occassionally redirects your search results to advertisements. Though TDSS rootkit sounds like a less critical virus, it is not...it may act as backdoor to allow more and more trojans on to your PC without your knowledge (Special tools are needed to fix rootkits). Even after you fix Think Point Virus your iTunes may not work. When you try to fix this rogue, by running legitimate antivirus you encounter that app cannot be executed warning, task manager disabled, registry editing disabled etc.. Now taskill the hotfix.exe defender.exe securityhelper.exe (virus executable files shown on task manager ) using the command Go to 'Start' Click 'Run' Type taskkill /f /im hotfix.exe Fix the proxy setting on internet explorer. Run Internet Explorer, Click Tools -> Internet Options

Select Connections Tab

Click LAN Settings button.

Uncheck "Use a proxy server" box. Click OK.

Click Apply.

Click OK. Now you should be able to connect to internet and run your antivirus programs.
